What a Summer!

My new EP is finally released and ready for all of you to buy! The sales at live shows have been awesome, but you can get a copy from www.CDbaby.com right now! Please go check it out!

I was given an opportunity of a lifetime to open up for Randy Travis. Randy Travis has more than a dozen studio albums, he has had more than 30 singles on Billboard Hot Country Songs and 16 number one hits! I felt honored to share the stage with such an accomplished artist.

Because of the Randy Travis show, I was given another amazing opportunity. I opened for Eric Church last month. Eric Church has taken the country by storm with his new CD, "Chief". I was able to open for him when his CD was number one in the country, all genres. Thank you to the D & R Theatre for being a part of both of those shows. The theatre is absolutely gorgeous, located in Aberdeen, Washington.

This summer will be one that I will not soon forget. I met some great people that I hope will remain lifelong fans. A few of those shows included: Clark County Fair, Union County Fair, Chinook Winds Casino, and more! Thank you to everyone who came out and watched my shows, thank you to my family and friends for supporting me and sharing new experiences with me and a HUGE thank you to my boys in the band. I would not be able to do any of this without all of your help and hard work. I am truly blessed to have such a talented group of musicians backing me up.

Until next time... :)

Much Love,
Taryn Cross

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry it has been so long since the last update. We are still trying to iron out the final details on the release of my new CD. I am very proud of what was accomplished in Nashville, and was able to get some of my own songwriting on the project. We have one song available for you to listen to on both my website, www.taryncross.com, and my Myspace page, www.Myspace.com/taryncross. Please take a minute to listen, the track is titled "Might As Well Be Me".

Along with that, I have been working very hard on songwriting and practicing my guitar. I am really looking forward to the Willamette Country Music Festival, Aug. 19-22.
Update

We are excited to let you know of two Bellingham shows that Taryn will be performing in her home town area. Both will be acoustic shows, a little different from Taryn's usual show with her 5-piece band, more laid back, perfect for the dinner crowd.

April 2, 2009
Back Porch Alley from 6 to 9:30 (all ages)
1212 N. State St.
Bellingham, Wa. 98225
360-647-3466
www.backporchalley.com

To quote a recent article in the Bellingham Business Journal: Layne Southcott, and his partner Ted Williams who is originally from Mississippi, have recently opened the Back Porch Alley Restaurant and Lounge, blending Southern-style cooking, music, and hospitality. To match the name, the restaurant is set up to look like an "alley" and the upstairs is the "back porch" with it's old style porch railings and view of the alley below. The stage is on the main floor surrounded by tables. Please come and support this fantastic new venue.

Also, April 4, 2009
Beach Store Cafe from 6-9 (all ages)
2200 N. Nugent
Lummi Island, Wa. 98262
360-758-2233

Take the 5 minute ferry ride from Gooseberry Point to Lummi Island, take a right from the ferry parking lot onto Nugent and the restaurant is in the yellow house on the left. This is very walkable for those of you who would rather leave your car on the mainland and walk on. You will love the food and fun atmosphere of the Beach Store Cafe.

Although they won't be traveling with Taryn this trip, Taryn has been busy with her new band performing in Oregon. They perform a show consisting of 4, one hour sets, that adds up to about 50 songs!

Taryn attended the Orefgon Fairs Convention in January and we are now putting together a very busy performance schedule for this summer. She also attended the Western Washington Chapter of the Nashville Songwriter's Assc. International (NSAI) workshop with Steve Seskin, author of such songs as "Grown Men Don't Cry" (Tim McGraw) and "Don't Laugh At Me" (Mark Wills) and many other hit songs.

We need to give our appreciation to Ladies of Country Music Radio and their support of Taryn. Please go to www.locmradio.com, and click on Make Request for Taryn Cross. We are also very excited about the new Ladies of Country Magazine coming out in May. Check it out and get their e-mail updates at www.locmpublications.com. A huge thank you to Jerry Pitts and Thomas Hilton and their support of the "Stars of Tomorrow"

In addition to managing a band, all the practice and performance time, and songwriting, Taryn completed her high school education last week. She has been taking on-line classes through Whatcom Community College and is only one quarter away from her two-year degree.

Taryn is now reviewing songs for a new CD project, and working on her own songs as well. We will keep you posted on that.

Thank you all for your support, and to our Bellingham friends, we hope to see you next week.

Fan Club Newsletter-Summer 2008 Update

Hello Everyone,
It's been awhile, so we thought we'd better let you know what's been going on.

Taryn is very busy performing both with Bob Manning and Nashville West, and as a solo act with Nashville West backing her. They are based in Oregon, but I will be letting you know of two upcoming Washington shows for our friends up here. And, as always, please keep checking www.taryncross.com and www.MySpace.com/taryncross for her performance schedule.

We have been contacted by Ruthanna Straton of Galaxy Entertainment in Nashville. We are very pleased to announce that Galaxy is handling the release of Taryn's single, "I Can Break My Own Heart", by Marc Kuchner and Stacey Magers, to country radio. The single appears on the CDX Compilation #451, and will go out to over 2000 plus radio stations. Just as a point of interest, the single was released the same week as singles by Jessica Simpson, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Randy Travis, Sara Evans, and Lee Ann Womack to name a few. Very stiff competition for a new artist, keep your fingers crossed. So far, Taryn has had airplay in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Louisianna, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. We are very grateful to Galaxy Entertainment for their support and expertise. Taryn is also getting airplay on Ladies of Country Music Radio for three of her songs, "I Can Break My Own Heart"', "The Good Life"' and "This Heart of Mine".

We were contacted by Bellingham film producer, Eero Johnson, about making a video for "I Can Break My Own Heart". Eero has some great ideas, we will begin shooting very soon.

Taryn has been very busy with her guitar and writing songs. She and our friend, singer/songwriter, Chris Stephens, were able to perform a song they co-wrote during our recent trip to Nashville. Taryn was back-up vocalist for Chris' gig at the Frisky Berry in Franklin, and Chris was very generous in allowing Taryn to sing lead on their song, "Reminding Me of You".

Our friend, songwriter Rod Stone, has some very exciting news, his song "USA Today", will be on Lee Greenwood's new project. We are very hopeful that it will actually be the title cut and first single, we'll keep you posted.

So....for our Washington friends, the information on the two upcoming Washington shows:
Thurston County Fair
August 1 @ 4 until 5:30
Directions from I-5 South-take exit 109, turn onto Martin Way.
